It’s easy to get caught up in everyday life. You have been blessed and fortunate to embark on new journeys, such as starting a new business or career. Then some may work in their local church or volunteer with different nonprofit organizations. One can be pulled in many different directions and wear many hats such as father, mother, mentor, aunt, grandparent, uncle, etc. We invest our time in helping other people by running errands and ensuring they have what they need. All of these are great things but let’s not lose our focus on God.
When God is made the center of our life, we can rest assure that all will be well with us. I am not saying that we will not have tests and trials, but I am saying that God being at the center makes it easier because we can rest in Him while He fights our battles that were fixed on our behalf from the beginning. I am learning more and more how important it is to get quiet and listen to God because He is always speaking. In the quietness, we not only hear God, but we receive instructions, directions, and clarity. The truth is we need those quiet moments with Him because we also draw strength. It is encouraging to be able to sit and listen to our Heavenly Father speak.
Remember, God is into relationships. Again, there is nothing wrong with being busy with different tasks that are helping and encouraging other people. Just don’t forget that we must nurture our relationship with our Father because that is what He desires, a genuine connection. Deuteronomy 7:9 says, “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.”
