Today I was reminded of the scripture Psalms 119:89. The Contemporary English Versions says, “Our Lord, you are eternal! Your Word will last as long as the heavens.” My heart was encouraged to remember that God’s Word is true. God’s life-changing Word will never lose an ounce of power. Last week I talked with some ladies, and we were talking about how we have to allow God to be our foundation. Sometimes life can bring unexpected test and trials, but when your hope and faith is in God, the trial may shake you, but it will not break you. When you live your life according to the will of God, and you ensure that He is the center of everything, you are allowing God to be your foundation. Psalms 7 24-27 says, “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
Think about it. When you build a house, the foundation is the first thing that is made. The foundation is the most critical part of the construction. Why? Because it is the part of the house that sustains everything else. What happens if you have a weak foundation? What you built cannot stand. There is no security to support the windows, doors, walls, or roof. In real life, when we fail to make God the foundation of our life, the center upon our decisions, how can we be successful in life? What kind of choices would we make? What would our life be like if we decided to live a life independent of God? It would be the same as if a house was built with no foundation…it would crumble. I want to encourage you to seek God like never before. Be intentional with getting into his presence and remaining there! Be prayerful throughout the days and nights. We can speak God’s Word, but we have to believe that what we say shall come to pass. We have to believe that there is power in God’s Word, and the Word of God will forever remain. Be encouraged and allow God’s Word to be your foundation. Today, make a choice to settle in your heart and mind that God’s Word is the final say despite what you may see or feel.
