What are stumbling blocks? It is a circumstance that causes difficulty or hesitation. As mentioned in the post “Don’t Be Your Own Stumbling Block,” we have to get out of our way. Sometimes we allow past mistakes that we have made or past bad decisions we have made to discount what God wants to do in us and through us. We fall. We mess up. We choose to go left when we should have gone right. There are times when we fail to listen to the wisdom of those that have our best interest at heart, only to find out if we had listened, we would not be experiencing certain things in our lives. It could be pride, stubbornness, or guilt that holds us back.
Whatever “it” is, decide to learn from it, move past it, and move in the direction that God has created in you. Realize this…our past has no more power than what we allow it to have. You are not your mistakes, and I am not my bad decisions from my past. Forgive yourself and live in the now. Every day God allows us to see is another day is an example of His grace and mercy that follows you. It is another day to move in your purpose. We say all the time that God is omnipotent and omnipresent, and He is. Yet the God that knows and sees all things allows us another opportunity. He still breathes the breath of life into our bodies to awaken out of sleep. Indeed, if He is willing to use us despite our wrong decisions still, we can forgive ourselves, learn from it, and move on.
