Collaborating With God

I recently read a devotion, and a sentence stuck out and ministered to me. The sentence said that we should live and work in collaboration with God. It might not mean much to you; however, to me, it speaks volumes! This sentence sums up how we, as believers, live each day! We should be working in collaboration with God. So what does that mean?

Webster’s definition of collaboration is to work jointly with others or together, especially in an intellectual endeavor. Every day of our lives, when we wake up, we are supposed to seek God and work with Him. We allow Him to work through us. There are things that God wants to do here on earth, but He needs a willing vessel. When we collaborate, He can accomplish His will here on earth.

When we do this, it causes us to live a life dependent upon God. This is a requirement. We yield ourselves for His use. We allow Him to use our mouths to say what needs to be said. When we speak kind words or tell people the truth in love, we are collaborating. We allow Him to use our hands at work or when we hug someone. We allow ourselves to be used by God when we give our time to someone who may need to vent. We work in collaboration with God when we stand up for what is right. We work in partnership with God when we walk in love and show the love of Christ to everyone we encounter.

Colossians 2:6-7 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him,rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Father God,

Thank you for helping us to realize that it is truly in you that we live, move, and have our being. We yield every part of us to you to be used for your glory. We will purpose in our hearts to live each day collaborating with you. We will seek your will and listen to your instructions. We will show forth the fruits of the spirit daily and walk in your way. We love and appreciate you and we say thank you for the opportunity to serve. In Jesus Name Amen!
